This month, Factory 56 produced the 50-millionth Mercedes-Benz which also happened to be the first Mercedes-Maybach S 580 that rolled off the production line. This milestone is truly amazing and speaks for the caliber of the Mercedes-Benz brand and the enthusiasm of those driving it.
The passion to manufacture these luxurious automobiles has lasted for over 75 years and the high demand has created an ever-expanding global network of enthusiasts. The luxurious and comfortable interior, the performance and efficiency as well as the fact that Mercedes-Benz is the trailblazer when it comes to safety, are all reasons why we celebrate this anniversary.
The Mercedes-Benz model line and the Mercedes-AMG performance versions are truly for everybody. While these cars quickly became a sign of success and achievement decades ago, the importance of cutting-edge technology combined with active and passive safety systems, especially in the case of emergency maneuvering, have convinced many customers to take a closer look at this brand, today.
Where do things go from here? The answer is simple. Towards the future and the engineering and producing of electric cars, starting with the EQA and EQS. Electric mobility has compelling advantages that are also met with plenty of challenges. It is our goal to research and implement solutions that reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions while keeping an eye on sustainability for the future. The current plan is to launch six Mercedes-Benz EQ models by 2022.
